Every Dane throws away an average of 11.4 kilos of waste every week. And more than half of it ends up in the incinerator and goes up in smoke. This is according to the Danish Environmental Protection Agency's latest report.
It is better to use resources to sort and recycle waste.
But you can also start the step before, and be aware of how much of what you buy ends up as waste later.
How to create less waste
- Buy quality things. You may have to pay a little more for good quality, but it will last longer.
- Repair things.
- Recycling.
